Zoning Meetings Coming up in Hastings

The City of Hastings Development Services Department will hold two meetings to discuss the land use section of Hastings City Code and are looking for public input.  

The meetings will take place 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26 at the Hastings Municipal Airport, 3300 W. 12th St.

These meetings are the latest step for the City of Hastings rewrite of Chapter 54 of the Municipal Code, which addresses zoning. This step includes setbacks, height requirements, lot coverage and more. 

This is the second round of zoning meetings. The initial meetings were Jan. 22 and 28. 

The March meetings will include a presentation with 3D visuals of these proposed changes.

This is important because every other part of zoning builds off the zoning districts and authorized land uses.  

The Development Services next steps following these meetings will be more public meetings to discuss other sections of city code.
