Zobel Goes Yard, NW Softball Takes Down Kearney Catholic 10-2

(Grand Island, NE) - Senior Reyse Zobel would launch a first-inning home run on Monday night leading to a 10-2 win over Kearney Catholic at the Vets Complex. Zobel would end the night by driving in four runs on two hits. Northwest at the end of the first would have a 3-0 lead and then add two more runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning to lead 5-0. Kearney Catholic would get one run back in the top of the third but the Northwest bats would come around for five more runs in the bottom of the frame to lead 10-1. Kearney Catholic would get one more run in the contest in the top of the fifth inning. The Viking offense would have 10 runs on 9 hits and have 3 errors in the game. Kearney Catholic would have 2 runs on 4 hits and 2 errors in the game. 

Graclyn Simmons picked up the win in the circle for Northwest pitching five innings on 103 pitches giving up 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 walk, and had 5 strikeouts in the game. Simmons faced 23 batters.
