Work will begin on N-74, west of Ayr

March 24, 2025 (Grand Island, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will resume April 1 on Nebraska Highway 74 (N-74), from 3 miles west of Holstein to Ayr, reference post 12+77 to reference post 30+83, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Werner Construction, of Hastings, is the contractor for this project. Work will include pavement repair, bridge repair, milling, asphalt overlay, grading and seeding. Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers and traffic signal closures at bridges. Anticipated completion is Nov. 2025.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
