Work Will Begin on N-74, East of Ong

March 24, 2025 (Grand Island, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin April 1 on Nebraska Highway 74 (N-74), from Spur 18F (S-18F) to Ong to U.S. Highway 81 (US-81), reference post 63+05 to reference post 75+98, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Werner Construction, of Hastings, is the contractor for this project. Work will include culverts, pavement repair, bridge repair, milling, asphalt overlay, grading, and seeding. Traffic will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers and traffic signal closures at bridges. Anticipated completion is November 2025.
Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
