Wood River Teen Arrested For October GI Robbery

(Grand Island, NE) - On October 24th GIPD officers responded to 816 E 5th Street due to multiple persons entering into the home. Four suspects wearing surgical gloves, masks, dark hoodies, and jeans entered into the home and attempted to steal tools and a purse while holding bats and a knife. It was reported by Grand Island Police on Monday, November 13th that one arrest had been made of 18-year-old Kayden Smith from Wood River. Smith was arrested on Sunday afternoon for Robbery, Use of a Firearm to Commit a Felony, and Use of a Deadly Weapon to Commit a Felony. GIPD is still on the hunt for the others that were involved with Smith in the robbery.
