Nebraska sophomore Kenneth Williams was honored Monday, as he was named Big Ten Co-Special Teams Player of the Week following the Huskers’ 28-21 win over Northwestern.

Williams returned the second half kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown, marking the Huskers’ first kickoff return for a touchdown since 2017 to give Nebraska a 14-6 lead. On the day, Williams finished with 124 kickoff return yards. He now leads the nation in kickoff returns at 34.7 yards per return and has two returns of at least 85 yards this season.

Williams, who shared the weekly honor with Rutgers’ Jai Patel, is the first Husker to receive the conference special teams award since punter Brian Buschini last season.

The Huskers return to action this Saturday, when they host No. 23 USC. Kickoff for the matchup with the Trojans is set for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be on NBC and the Husker Sports Network.
