Wildcat Basketball teams stays red hot in Ravenna

Fresh off a sweep against Ord last night the night before, the St. Paul Wildcats were back in action Tuesday night at Ravenna for a double header against the Bluejays. 

In action on the Girl's side of things, it was a rematch of Thursday's Lou Platte Conference Semi-Final that saw St. Paul jump out to a 12-4 lead in the 1st quarter before outscoring Ravenna in the 2nd quarter 11-6 taking a 23-10 lead into the halftime break. 10 different Wildcats broke into the scoring column as St. Paul controlled the 2nd half 28-11 enroute to a 51-21 victory. The win marks 4 out of the last 5 for the Wildcat girls as they close out the regular season on Friday in Holdrege.

Senior Natalie Poss takes home Runza MVP honors with 7 points and multiple defensive takeaways.

The Boy's side saw another explosive night from Sam Wells as the senior tallied 30 points duplicating his performance from Monday night against Ord. Wells netted 20 of his 30 points in the first half alone as the Cats led 28-8 at the halfway point of the contest. Ravenna found its stride in the 2nd half outscoring St. Paul 29-27 but the 1st half sealed the deal for St. Paul's 3rd consecutive win with the 55-37 victory.

Chris Thomas, earns Runza MVP honors with 8 points, 6 of which came in the 2nd half.

Wildcats are back in action Friday at Holdrege on Country 96. Pump and Pantry pregame is schedule for 5:45 P.M.
