Kearney, Neb. – The now seventh-ranked Nebraska Kearney volleyball team used its depth to sweep York University (-15, -7, -12) Monday night at the Health & Sports Center.

UNK out hit YU .311 to negative .042 while serving up nine aces, having no receive errors and recording 16 more digs. The Panthers did register three more blocks and battled for most of the first set.

David City sophomore outside Lauren Vandenberg had a match-high nine kills with Lane and sophomore outside Asha Reiger (Newton, Kan.) at eight apiece with veteran middle Michaela Bartels (Bennington) at six kills in nine swings (.667 pct.). Also in the middle, true freshman Abby Rose (Lindsborg, Kan.) had five kills and three blocks. Next, Stephens dug up 13 balls and had four assists with senior DS Elise Volk (Omaha Concordia) serving up three aces and nine straight points in the third set. Finally, true freshman setter Ella Kiebel (Maple Lake, Minn.) had 16 assists, two aces and a couple of long serving runs.
