Two Vehicle Crash Monday In Merrick County

The Merrick County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the Highway 14 and Highway 92 junction to investigate a two-vehicle injury crash on Monday, December 15th. The preliminary investigation concluded that a 2022 Chevrolet pickup was traveling northbound on Highway 14, approaching the Highway 92 junction, and collided with the back of a 2002 Peterbilt semi-truck that was traveling slowly while coming to a stop at the stop sign.
The driver of the pickup sustained injuries during the accident, requiring transport to Merrick Medical Center. Drivers of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. Alcohol and or drugs are not suspected. Central City Ambulance and the Central City Fire Department assisted with this call.
