Troopers Arrest Four During Traffic Stop

January 30, 2025 (LINCOLN, NEB.)  —  Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol, with assistance from Lincoln Police Department, have arrested four individuals following a traffic stop late last night.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, troopers performed a traffic stop on a Hyundai Santa Fe for travelling with no license plates on 33rd Street near Cornhusker Highway in Lincoln. During the stop, the driver refused to comply and attempted to flee in the vehicle through the parking lot. At that time, an LPD officer was entering the parking lot and the vehicle stopped.

Upon approaching the vehicle, the driver still refused to comply and was taken into custody. During that contact, the trooper observed a suspected controlled substance in the vehicle. The resulting investigation revealed multiple bags of suspected methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Brittany Hart, 31, of Lincoln, was arrested for flight to avoid arrest, resisting arrest second offence, outstanding warrants, and possession of methamphetamine. The passengers, Brian Ford, 48, of Beatrice, John Sutton, 46, of Lincoln, Shannon Russell, 35, of Lincoln, were all arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
