Tornado Spotted Early Monday Morning Near St Paul

(St Paul, NE) - Sunday night into early Monday morning, portions of Central Nebraska experienced a round of severe weather. 60 mph winds and golf ball size hail swept through an area north of Gibbon, cutting northeast between Boelus and Cairo, eventually reaching the St Paul area.

A tornado was reported on the ground before 1:00 am on Monday, May 19th. The location of the tornado was just west/southwest of St Paul.  

Tornado sirens were sounded in the city of St Paul at that time to warn residents to take shelter. The St. Paul, Dannebrog, Boelus, Farwell & Elba Vol. Fire Departments were all out storm spotting and checking for damage in the area. No damage was reported at that time.
