Three arrested in York County road rage incident


WACO - On March 1 at approximately 4:00 p.m., deputies with the York County Sheriff's Office were detailed to a road rage incident on Highway 69 in between Shelby and Gresham.

The reporting party stated another vehicle was throwing objects at them and two occupants brandished firearms at them. The suspect vehicle was last seen near Gresham. A short time later, a sergeant with the York County Sheriff's Office located the suspect vehicle and the two of the three reported suspects at a property outside of Waco. A search of the property uncovered the third suspect hiding in a nearby tree line, two firearms involved in the incident, and the vehicle involved.
Based off of witness statements, it was determined that the portion of the incident involving the use of the firearms occurred in Polk County so the Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene. Ultimately, the Polk County Sheriff's Office arrested two adult suspects and one juvenile suspect in relation to this incident. Additional charges for actions that occurred in York County are being referred to the York County Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

The coordinated efforts and collaboration between the York County Sheriff's Office and the Polk County Sheriff's Office were instrumental in safely locating the suspects, securing evidence, and bringing the incident to a resolution. The successful outcome reflects the strong working relationship and continued cooperation between both agencies in ensuring the safety of our communities.

Tyree Sipple (18) of Las Vegas, NV was arrested on the following charges:
• Terroristic Threats
• Possession of a Controlled Substance
• Possession of Marijuana less than One Ounce

Gavin Starman (18) of Gresham, NE was arrested on the following charges:
• Accessory to a Felony
• Possession of a Stolen Firearm
• Carrying a Concealed Weapon

The third suspect was a juvenile and was taken into custody and is currently being housed at the Northeast Nebraska Juvenile Services Detention Center
