Sodbuster Drop Series Opener to Casper

The Sodbusters rallied, but couldn't hang on in a 7-6 loss to Independence League Leader Casper on Monday. Hastings battled from 2-0, and 3-2 deficits to take a 5-3 lead after seven. But the Spuds scored three in the eighth and one in the ninth for their 19th straight win. Drew Vega was 2-5 and scored a run. Kale Jensen went 2-3, knocked in two and scored once. The same two teams meet at 6:35 Tuesday at Duncan Field.
