Road Work to Continue in Region

Weather permitting, work will begin March 25 on S-40D, Prosser Spur, from reference post 0.33 to reference post 6.08, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Vontz Paving, Inc. of Hastings is the contractor for this project. Work will include bridge repair, culverts, asphalt overlay, earth shoulder, and seeding. One lane of traffic will be maintained with temporary traffic signals for bridge work at reference post 0.40 and reference post 0.82. Traffic for the remainder of the project will be maintained with a pilot car and flaggers. The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph on the bridge with a 12-foot width restriction. Anticipated completion is Summer 2024. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
