Riley Green Adds Modern Country to the Nebraska State Fair Lineup

(Grand Island, NE) - Country music rising star Riley Green is the latest addition to the Nebraska Lottery Concert Series at the Nebraska State Fair. Green will kick off the outdoor section of the series on Wednesday, August 28.

“We know Nebraskans love country music, so we’re excited to have Riley Green at the State Fair,” said Karli Schulz, Nebraska State Fair Entertainment & Events Director. “Fans are going to love this high-energy show.”

The show will be outside at the newly updated Anderson Field. The show features special Early Bird Pricing. Ticket prices for the show are $10 off regular price from on sale Friday, February 9, through February 23, meaning general admission tickets are $37 and pit tickets are $57 during that time.

The upgrades to Anderson Field include a larger stage and a gradual ground slope allowing for improved sightlines from the back of the venue. This slope will play a part in keeping the area usable when rain falls. The motorsport events track has been moved out of the concert field allowing for the improved layout, which also includes additional bleacher seating and closer viewing. Walkways leading to and within the venue have been enhanced as well.

Green has been compelling country music fans to raise a drink, shed a tear, and, above all, celebrate where they are from, since first releasing his self-titled EP in 2018. His songs like the No. 1 Platinum hit “There Was This Girl,” the 2X-Platinum-certified heart-tugger “I Wish Grandpas Never Died,” and his chart-topping collaboration with Thomas Rhett, “Half of Me,” have made Riley synonymous with what country music does best: making listeners feel something with his no-gimmick, relatable writing and classic feel.

Green has toured with Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs, the latter he teamed up with for “Different ‘Round Here,” on his latest album, “Ain’t My Last Rodeo.”

Riley is riding a wave of success after being named the Academy of Country Music’s 2020 New Male Artist of the Year, a MusicRow Breakout Artist of the Year, a CMT “Listen Up Artist,” and one of CRS’s 2020 New Faces. More recently, he was the featured artist on the January 23 episode of CMT’s “Campfire Sessions.”

This is one of seven days of high-quality national touring acts in the Nebraska Lottery Series. Already announced shows include Christian stars Casting Crowns and Anne Wilson on Sunday, August 25, the Older Nebraskans Day concert featuring the Gatlin Brothers and Lorrie Morgan on Monday, August 26, and the Saturday night, August 31, series-closing act, Yung Gravy with opening act Tayler Holder. Tickets for all shows are available at statefair.org.

Additional acts will be announced for the four remaining performances every few weeks through March.

With the theme, All Roads Lead to Fun, the 2024 Nebraska State Fair is August 23-September 2 at Fonner Park in Grand Island. The fair has drawn more than 4 million visitors to its home in Grand Island since 2010. More information about agricultural events and competitions, carnival entertainment, and other musical performances is available at StateFair.org.
