Pleasanton Public Schools Earns “Excellent” Rating from Nebraska Department of Education

Pleasanton, NE — Pleasanton Public Schools is proud to announce that the district has received an “Excellent” rating from the Nebraska Department of Education for the 2024–2025 school year—the highest rating awarded by the state. This recognition reflects the district’s strong academic performance, positive school culture, and continued commitment to student growth.

In addition to the district-wide rating, Pleasanton Middle School and Pleasanton High School each received Excellent ratings, while the Elementary School earned a strong Great rating.

“These results highlight the outstanding work of our students and staff and the tremendous support of our parents and community,” said Superintendent Nathan Lightle. “We are proud of this achievement and remain committed to providing high-quality learning opportunities for every student.”

Recent NDE rating history for Pleasanton Public Schools includes:

2024–2025: Excellent (District), Great (Elementary), Excellent (Middle School), Excellent (High School)
2023–2024: Good (District), Great (Elementary), Good (Middle School), Great (High School)
2022–2023: Great across all buildings
2021–2022: Good across all buildings
