Northwest Volleyball Season Comes To An End In District Final

(Waverly, NE) - The Northwest volleyball team would see its season come to an end on Saturday, falling to Waverly in straight sets. 25-18, 25-21, 25-21. With the win, Waverly advances to the state volleyball tournament next week in Lincoln. 

Northwest would be led by Ava Janulewicz with 12 kills on the day. Elli Payne would have 9 kills, and Nasya Anderson would chip in 7 kills. Halle Rice would have 10 digs, Janulewicz would have 11 digs as each player would also have 2 ace serves in the match. Kenna Bowman would finish the match with 25 set assists. 

Northwest ends the season with a record of 23-11. Waverly at 29-5 advances to the state volleyball tournament to play first round action on Wednesday at 11:00 am vs Gretna. 

Other first-round matchups on Wednesday include Norris vs Gering, Elkhorn North vs Bennington, and Skutt Catholic vs Columbus Lakeview.
