Northwest Volleyball Hangs On In Five At York

(York, NE) - The Northwest volleyball team defeated York on Tuesday night in five sets. 25-23, 25-15, 17-25, 23-25, 15-13. 

The Vikings had a big night from freshman Elli Payne, who led the way with 23 kills on the night. Ava Janulewicz would fire home 15 kills. Nasya Anderson had 8 kills. Anna Bauer would chip in 5 kills. 

Northwest would overcome 15 ace serves from the Dukes to have 10 of their own in the match, including three each from Elli Payne and Halle Rice. Kenna Bowman would have 34 set assists in the match. 

Two sophomores led the way for the Dukes. Sydney Jacobsen had 21 kills, and Harley Wardyn had 16 kills. The Dukes end the regular season 15-17. 

Northwest closes out the regular season with a 22-10 record and will now await their district post-season tournament destination that will be announced this week from the NSAA.
