Northwest Softball Advances To District Final - Two Wins From State

(Grand Island, NE) - The Northwest softball team advanced to the Class B district one final round on Thursday with a 9-1 win over Lincoln Standing Bear.
The Vikings would have nine runs on nine hits and one error in the contest. Standing Bear would have one run (homerun), three hits, and three errors in the contest. Northwest would be led at the plate with Becca Dinkelman having two hits and an RBI. Laiken Dorsey would have two hits and three RBIs. Sadie Cemper would have one hit and three RBIs.
Standing Bear would get an opening round win earlier in the day over Scottsbluff, 8-3, to advance vs Northwest. On the other side of the bracket, Ashland Greenwood would defeat Wayne 4-3.
Northwest is now 24-2 on the season and will take on Ashland Greenwood (17-10) on Friday morning for a best two out of three season. The team that takes two games will advance to the Class B state softball tournament in Hastings next week.
