Northwest Soccer Splits With Norris

The Northwest Viking soccer clubs started their seasons on Thursday and Friday. The Northwest girls Thursday night defeated Norris 2-1. The match would go to overtime after being tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation. The two would be scoreless through the two 10-minute extra time periods. The Vikings would then win the shootout 3-2 to claim the victory. Northwest would get three big stops from keeper Maddie Kral. Northwest would get the win buttoned up with a final score from Lupe Sanchez on the final kick of the shootout.
The Northwest boys would have to push their match with Norris to Friday with the weather from the mid-week. Norris would claim the victory by a final score of 2-1. The match also much like the girls would finish in a shootout. Northwest would score with 21 minutes remaining in the 2nd half getting a goal from Keith DeLaet. Norris would answer with 10 minutes remaining to tie the match at 1-1. The Titans would win the shootout round to claim the victory.
Northwest will be back in action on Tuesday, March 25th at Kearney Catholic.
