Northwest Girls Advance To B7 Sub Final

(Grand Island, NE) - The Northwest girls' soccer team defeated Hastings on Monday, May 5th by a final score of 1-0. The Vikings would get a goal from freshman Ava Waind with 29:22 left in the first half. That's all Northwest would need: holding command of the ball most of the night and not allowing Hastings to get anything set up offensively.
The Tigers would defeat Aurora Saturday 1-0 to advance to Monday night's semi-final. The Tigers see their season end with a record of 6-11.
Northwest, now 14-,2 will play in the B7 sub-district tournament championship on Tuesday, May 6th at 5:30 pm.
In the other semi-final of the night, York defeated Seward, 4-1 in overtime.
