Northwest Boys Run Away From Hastings, 62-46


(Hastings, NE) - The Northwest boys would hit seven three-pointers on Tuesday night en route to a 62-46 victory at Hastings. 

The two teams would go back and forth in the first quarter. Braylon Sawicki for Hastings would hit a corner three-pointer as time would expire in the first quarter. Northwest would have a 16-15 lead. The Vikings would get a spark off the bench from sophomore Gavin Burt. He would score nine points in the first half, but seven of them would come in the first quarter. Burt would end the night with 12 points. 

Northwest would have a 29-19 lead at the halftime break. Northwest would then hit the gas again in the third quarter, outscoring the Tigers, 16-7, to put the game out of reach. 

The Tigers drop to 1-15 on the season and will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 7th, hosting Elkhorn. Northwest moves to 10-7 on the season and will host Schuyler on Friday, Feb. 6th.
