Nighttime work will begin on I-80, from Hampton to York

May 2, 2025 (Grand Island, Neb.) — Weather permitting, work will begin Sunday evening, May 4 on Interstate 80 (I-80), from reference post 336+15 to reference post 351+24, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Garcia-Chicoine, of Milford, is the contractor for this project. Work includes milling, surfacing, earth shouldering, and guardrail in the center median. Traffic will be maintained with intermittent lane closures. Anticipated completion is Nov. 2025.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up, and to put phones down.
