Lippincott's LB548 Advances
A local senator’s bill was on the docket on Thursday. District 34 Senator Loren Lippincott made LB548 his priority bill for the session. The measure would allow government-owned natural gas systems to utilize provisions of the IRS code to provide natural gas price discounts to large industrial customers not currently served by another public or investor-owned utility
District 35 Senator Dan Quick had reservations.
After over an hour of debate, LB548 advanced on a 25-9 vote. Quick ended up ‘present, not voting’. Other local senators Dan Lonowski, Stan Clouse, and Fred Meyer voted to advance the bill.
