LB669 Fails to Advance at Unicameral

LB669 failed to advance at the Nebraska Legislature. It would have updated the state’s informed consent statutory framework for abortion to ensure proper screening, evaluation, and assistance for instances of coercion, domestic violence, and human trafficking. The bill’s sponsor Tanya Storer took to the mic several times to try to get the needed support.
The vote for cloture was 31-15. Thirty-three votes were needed. From our region, senators Stan Clouse, Dan Lonowski,Loren Lippincott, and Fred Meyer voted in favor. Dan Quick was present, not voting.
