Kyle Carder Named New Northwest Head Football Coach
(Grand Island, NE) - Thursday afternoon, in front of players and assistant coaches Northwest administration announced Kyle Carder as the next head football coach.
Carder, who has helped the Vikings as an assistant for the last several years after coming over from Grand Island Senior High. Kyle is an Albion native who played his high school football under Nebraska High School Hall of Famer Arnie Johnson.
One of Carder's first coaching stops was under long-time Grand Island Senior High defensive coordinator Greg Uhrmacher. He has also learned from two long-time head football coaches, Kevin Stein and Jeff Tomlin.
Carder takes over for Head Coach Kevin Stein after 16 years with the Vikings. Stein to still teach next school year with Northwest.
