KPS Phones and Network are Down: Update – Network Disruption

We want to inform you of an important situation impacting Kearney Public Schools. Last Friday, our district’s technology network was compromised by a cybersecurity attack. Since then, our KPS technology team, in coordination with external experts, has been working diligently to identify the source of the attack and restore our systems.

Unfortunately, the recovery process is still ongoing and will not be completed before the start of school on Monday. As a result, school phones, computers, and other network-dependent systems will be unavailable.

Important Information for Monday:

School will still be in session.
Phones and email will not be operational. If you need to contact the school, please do so in person.
Instruction will continue, though digital tools cannot be used until the network is fully restored.
We understand this may cause inconvenience and appreciate your patience and support as we work through this situation. Please know that the safety and security of our students, staff, and data remain our highest priorities.

We will continue to provide updates as we learn more and make progress toward full restoration. In the meantime, we thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
