Kearney FFA Veterinary Science Team Earns National Silver at FFA Convention

KEARNEY, Neb. — The Kearney High School FFA chapter made history this year with its first-ever state-winning team at the Nebraska State FFA Convention in April. The Veterinary Science team continued its success on the national stage, earning a Team Silver rating at the National FFA Convention held last week in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Team members Jazmin Recroft, Lexi Saulsbury, Savannah Kelliher, and Rachel Covert represented Kearney FFA in the competitive event, showcasing months of preparation and dedication since their state win last spring.

Individual results included:

Jazmin Recroft – Gold
Lexi Saulsbury – Silver
Savannah Kelliher – Silver
Rachel Covert – Silver

“These students have worked tirelessly since April, studying, practicing, and refining their skills,” said Spencer Noble, Kearney High School Agriculture Teacher and FFA Advisor. “Their success at both the state and national levels is a tremendous accomplishment, and I couldn’t be more proud of their hard work and teamwork.”

The Veterinary Science Career Development Event (CDE) challenges students’ knowledge and practical skills related to animal care, health, and management. Competing at the national level places Kearney’s students among the top FFA members in the country.
