Huskers Win Outright Big Ten Title in Sweep at No. 17 Indiana
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 1 Nebraska volleyball team clinched the outright Big Ten title with a 25-19, 25-16, 25-22 win at No. 17 Indiana in front of a crowd of 2,832 at Wilkinson Hall on Saturday night.
Nebraska has won 37 conference titles all-time, including six in the Big Ten (2011, 2016, 2017, 2023, 2024, 2025). It's the first time since 2004-08 that Nebraska has won three straight conference titles. Nebraska's six Big Ten titles since joining the conference in 2011 are the most by any team.
The Huskers improved to 28-0 (18-0 Big Ten). NU's 28-0 start is the third-best start to a season in program history.
NU hit .340 for the match and held Indiana (22-6, 13-5 Big Ten) to .147.
Harper Murray finished with 11 kills (.296) and six digs. Virginia Adriano had nine kills (.412) and a career-high six blocks. Andi Jackson had nine kills (.538) and four blocks, and Rebekah Allick added seven kills and four blocks. Taylor Landfair tacked on five kills (.455).
Bergen Reilly recorded 33 assists and nine digs. Olivia Mauch had seven digs and six set assists at libero. Laney Choboy had five digs, while Teraya Sigler notched six digs with a pair of kills.
NU had more kills (45-32), blocks (8-1) and digs (38-31). Aces were even at 4-4.
Set 1: Indiana went ahead 9-5, but the Huskers answered with kills by Murray and Adriano and a block by Allick and Adriano to tie it 9-9. A kill by Landfair and block by Allick and Adriano put NU ahead 11-10. With the score tied 11-11, Murray, Adriano and Jackson added kills, and Adriano and Jackson notched a block for a 15-11 lead. The Huskers pushed the lead to 22-15 after back-to-back kills by Murray and Landfair. Adriano tacked on three more kills, and the Huskers won 25-19. The freshman from Italy had six kills and three blocks in the set.
Set 2: Nebraska led 7-3, but the Hoosiers went on a 6-0 run to go up 9-7. Reilly dumped a kill to end the run, and Jackson and Reilly stuffed an attack to tie the score at 9-9. Murray's 4-0 service run continued with a Landfair kill that made it 11-9. Later, Landfair and Allick posted kills, and Indiana had three straight hitting errors to push NU's lead to 17-11 after a 5-0 run served by Reilly. Allick added a kill before Adriano notched a kill and served an ace for a 22-15 lead. Jackson, Reilly and Landfair ended the set with kills for a 25-16 win.
Set 3: Jackson and Murray each had two kills as the Huskers built an early 7-4 lead. Two kills from Adriano kept the Huskers up by three, 10-7. Indiana pulled within 14-13, but a back-row kill by Sigler made it 15-13 at the media timeout. Allick followed up by hammering down an overpass, but the Hoosiers answered with a 3-0 run to tie it 16-16, including back-to-back aces. Allick stepped up for the Big Red with a sideout kill, and a kill by Jackson, an ace by Choboy and an Indiana hitting error made it 20-17. Murray and Sigler kept NU on the front foot with kills, Sigler and Allick pounded kills down the stretch as the Huskers won 25-22.
Up Next: The Huskers end the regular season at home next weekend. Nebraska hosts No. 24 Penn State on Friday at 5:30 p.m., which will be a Blackout in John Cook Arena. The Huskers then face Ohio State on Saturday at 8 p.m. on Senior Night. Both matches will be televised on Big Ten Network and can be heard on the Huskers Radio Network.
