Housing Development Corporation Changes Name to NextPoint Home Development and Expands Service Area
Hastings, NE – March 2, 2026 - Housing Development Corporation, a long-standing nonprofit dedicated to promoting attainable housing opportunities and improving quality of life for Nebraskans, announced today that it has completed a full rebrand and will now operate as NextPoint Home Development.
The rebrand includes a legal name change, a new visual identity, and refreshed messaging that reflect the organization's growth, expanded reach, and future direction. While the mission remains unchanged, the new brand more clearly communicates the organization's purpose, impact, and commitment to the communities it serves.
"This rebrand represents an important evolution for our organization," said Alyssa Heagy, Executive Director. "NextPoint Home Development better captures the forward momentum of our work and the role we play in helping individuals and families move toward stability, opportunity, and growth. While our name and look are new, our values and mission remain the same."
Why the Rebrand - Housing Development Corporation has served Nebraska communities for decades; however, the former name often blended in with similar organizations and no longer reflected the scope or spirit of the work being done.
The new name, NextPoint Home Development, was intentionally chosen to represent: Progress and purpose - "NextPoint" signals forward movement, growth, and opportunity. Clarity of mission - “Home Development" keeps housing at the center of the organization's work. Hope and inclusion - The new tagline, "Because Everyone Deserves a Place to Grow,"reflects the belief that housing is
foundational to stability, belonging, and community. The rebrand also introduces a modern visual identity designed to convey trust, renewal, and long-term impact.
As part of this next chapter, NextPoint Home Development has also expanded its service area to include Buffalo, Hamilton, Howard, Kearney, and Merrick Counties. The organization will continue serving Adams, Clay, Hall, Nuckolls, and Webster Counties, extending its reach to a total of ten counties across central and south-central Nebraska. "This expansion allows us to respond to growing housing needs while remaining deeply committed to the communities we have long served," Alyssa said.
NextPoint Home Development continues the work established under Housing Development Corporation by:
-Assisting qualified homeowners with critical home repairs and deferred maintenance
-Providing affordable rental housing to individuals and families
-Providing education through RentWise & Home Buyer coaching
