Hastings College hosts annual Multicultural Festival Sunday, November 2
(Hastings, Nebraska) – The annual Hastings Multicultural Festival, an afternoon dedicated to celebrating global cultures through food, music and dance, will take place Sunday, November 2, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. The event will be held in the Kiewit Gymnasium (715 E. 7th Street) on the Hastings College campus.
The festival is free and open to the public. All are encouraged to attend and celebrate the diverse cultures and backgrounds present in the Hastings community.
Attendees will be treated to a variety of dynamic performances, including:
-Raíces de mi Pueblo (traditional folk dance)
-The YWCA Dancers
-Raaga Omaha (featuring music and dance from India)
-Santa Cruz Dancers
In addition to the entertainment, food booths will offer free samples of cuisine from a number of countries and cultures, including Colombia, the Czech Republic, Mexico, the Bahamas, several European countries, Native American culture and others.
The event is a community partnership sponsored by Hastings College, the Hastings Multicultural Association, and the YWCA of Hastings.
