Hamilton County Sheriff Makes Arrest

On Sunday afternoon January 14, 2024, deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office were called to 488 North Enfield in Giltner, Nebraska to check on the welfare of two dogs who had been outside all weekend.  Upon arrival, deputies found one dog in distress and another dog deceased outside of the residence.  Deputies arrested Kevin Jemison, 60 of Giltner, NE for Cruel Neglect of an Animal Resulting in Death and Cruel Neglect of an Animal Resulting in Serious Injury or Illness.  The surviving dog was taken to Aurora Vet Clinic in Aurora for emergency treatment of hypothermia and thermal injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
