
Grand Island Baseball Falls in 13 Inning Game at Hastings

(Hastings, NE) - A game that was just a few minutes shy of four and a half hours came down to an RBI single for the Hastings Tigers in the bottom of the 13th to defeat Grand Island 6-5. Hastings would take a 3-0 lead after the first inning. Grand Island would then take the lead 4-3 with four runs in the top of the 4th. Hastings would then come back in the bottom of the 4th and tie the game with one run at 4-4. The two teams would then each score a run in the 6th inning to remain tied until the bottom of the 13th inning. Dinkelman, Arends, and Lee for Grand Island each had two hits in the game to lead the way for the Islanders. RBIs came from Dinkelman, Arends, Leiting, Lee, and Barientos.
