Good Samaritan Excellence in Joint Replacement, Spine Surgery recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield 

KEARNEY– CHI Health Good Samaritan is proud to be recognized by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska with Blue Distinction Center+ designations for excellence in both Spine Surgery and Knee and Hip Replacement.

This honor places Good Samaritan among an elite group of health care providers in Nebraska, with only five spine surgery programs and seven joint replacement centers receiving the distinction statewide. The additional "plus" designation signifies the highest level of recognition, indicating a commitment to patient safety, superior health outcomes and cost-effectiveness.

Since 2005, Blue Distinction Centers have provided patients with expert care and advanced practices resulting in improved recovery times, fewer complications and a positive impact on their overall health. Designated facilities deliver high quality care, with an average of 28% fewer readmissions and 29% fewer complications within 90 days after spine surgery and 21% fewer readmissions and 21% fewer complications within 90 days of knee and hip replacement surgery.
