GISH Honors Night Celebrates Academic Excellence
GRAND ISLAND (Neb.) — Academic excellence was on full display over the weekend at Grand Island Senior High (GISH).
On Sunday evening, Seniors who will be graduating with honors were recognized on the GISH Auditorium stage in front of classmates, family, friends, and staff. The annual event provides high-achieving scholars [and soon-to-be graduates] with certificates of recognition for exemplary academic achievements, and, for some, the honorary white stole to be worn at the graduation ceremony in May.
50 students earned recognition by Summa Cum Laude or Magna Cum Laude status marking cumulative GPAs of 3.75 or higher. With all four upper GISH Academies represented among the field of honorees, the scholars also represent commitment to athletics, fine arts, activities, clubs, and community impact.
Proud of the class of honored graduates, Mr. Calvin Hubbard, GISH Principal, affirmed the Islander commitment to personalized learning experiences, academic rigor, and the richness of extracurricular activities.
“These Honors Students are celebrated not just for their academic achievements, but the foundation of hard work, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence that has shaped their journey.” Hubbard said, “At GISH, we are proud to continue our commitment to personalized learning and academic rigor, ensuring that every student thrives, both inside the classroom and beyond.”
