GIPD Will Ticket Snow Bound Vehicles

For Immediate Release – GIPD to start ticketing snow bound vehicles that have not moved since last week and appear to be plowed in.  This based on GI City Code 22-99 centered on the 72 hour parking ban.  Residents are encourage to dig out and move all vehicles parked on city street or city parking lots, that have not moved since the snow storms last week. 

Also the GIPD would like to thank the Grand Island citizens who routinely park on the Emergency Snow Routes.  During this past week, GIPD only needed to tow 3 vehicles off these routes in violation of the Emergency Snow Alert to assist the ongoing snow plowing efforts by the City Street Department.
