Offense: Terroristic Threats

Offender: Nicholas Orona

Location of Incident: 2103 Stolley Park Rd
Brief Narrative: Officers of the Grand Island Police Department responded to 2103 W. Stolley Park Road, Stolley Park Gardens, for a report of a male out of control and intoxicated at a wedding. The officiant of the wedding reported that Nicholas Orona showed up to the wedding intoxicated and threatened to kill him. Orona was held down until officers were able to place him into custody. During the arrest, Orona threatened to kill two officers and sexually assault another. Orona failed to comply with commands while getting into the patrol vehicle and getting out at the jail and would become dead weight. Orona was booked into the Hall County Department of Corrections for three counts of Terroristic Threats and one count of Obstruction.

Brief Narrative: Adult female reported her boyfriend/roommate threatened to kill her and physically assaulted her causing visible injuries at their shared residence. Case is under investigation.

Brief Narrative: Juana Pascual Ortiz caused a traffic accident, which involved both of her vehicles. As result of the accident, one of Juana's children was injured. Juana Pascual Ortiz was cited for Intentional Child Abuse.

Offender: Latifah Root and Sierra Lovejoy

Location of Incident: 208 W 5th St
Brief Narrative: On May 25, 2024, officers were dispatched to 2124 1/2 N Broadwell Ave to investigate the report of a robbery. The reporting party stated he was sleeping in a tractor trailer behind 208 W 5th St where four individuals entered the trailer, held him down and assaulted him. The suspects took the reporting party’s phone, valued at $300, and wallet, containing debit cards and $25 cash. On 5/26/2024 around 23:55 officers contacted two females near 3rd St and Eddy St who were identified by Hall County Booking photographs as Latifah Root and Sierra Lovejoy. While speaking with Latifah she would mention details of the reported robbery and later admitted to being involved in a physical altercation with the victim. Latifah reported during this altercation she held the victim down to avoid being, struck but stated during this time Sierra Lovejoy and the other male took the victim’s cellphone. Latifah denies being involved in taking any items from the tractor. Sierra Lovejoy would admit to being with Latifah during this incident. She denied ever entering the tractor, but stated Latifah told her after she exited the tractor that she had taken the victim's cellphone. Latifah Root and Sierra Lovejoy were both arrested for Robbery.

Brief Narrative: Victims reported falling for a scam that their computer was infected with a virus and convinced to send $2000.00 worth of Home Depot gift cards to suspects.

Location of Incident: 922 W John St
Brief Narrative: On 05/26/2024, Officers received a report of a theft at the residence of 922 W John Street. Upon making contact with the male victim, he reported that his ex-boyfriend was previously renting his residence for approximately 1 year. The male victim states he received a text message from the suspect stating he cannot pay rent for the month of June and he was moving out. A walk through of the house was completed and all of the appliances were gone. The male victim states the appliances were all silver and black Samsung brand appliances. The victim reports he is missing a front load washer and dryer, a dishwasher, a microwave, an oven, and a refrigerator. The male victim states he purchased the items from Home Depot and paid approximately $5,402.56 in June 2023 for the items. This is an open and active investigation.

Location of Incident: Stagecoach Rd & Brahma St
Brief Narrative: On 05/27/2024 around 1751 hrs, an officer observed a vehicle traveling above the posted speed limit northbound on Locust St in the area of Midaro Dr. The vehicle was captured and locked in on radar traveling 52 MPH in a posted 40 MPH zone. A traffic top was initiated at Stagecoach Rd and Brahma St. Douglas Matias Lopez was contacted as the driver. A check of Douglas's driver's status came back as revoked stemming from a DUI +.15 conviction (02/21/2024). Douglas also was not wearing his seatbelt before the traffic stop. Douglas was placed under arrest and transported to HCDC for Driving During Revocation from DUI, Speeding 11-15 Over, and Seatbelt Violation.
