Offense: Assault
Victim: 48 year old male, 36 year old female Incident #: L24110473
Date and Time of Incident: 11/6/24 @ 12:55
Location of Incident: 4111 W 13th St
Brief Narrative: Reporting Party with Westridge Middle School and Skills Academy requested assistance with Offender for causing a disruption in the school environment. Offender eloped from the Skills Academy office, was not following verbal directions of staff, entering off-limit classrooms, knocking on classroom doors, climbing lockers, and creating an overall disruption to the learning environment. Offender was given multiple warnings to go to the office but refused. Offender was then escorted by an officer to the office. Offender screamed, cursed, resisted detainment, kicked a staff member, and kicked the officer. Offender was eventually handcuffed and detained for the safety of staff, students, and the offender. Case is under investigation.

Offense: Burglary & Motor Vehicle Theft
Victim: 38 year old male Incident #: L24110523
Date and Time of Incident: between 11/6/24 & 11/7/24
Location of Incident: 322 W 8th St
Brief Narrative: GIPD officers were asked to assist Hastings PD with a possible stolen vehicle investigation. During the investigation, it was determined that a white 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe was stolen out of Grand Island and recovered in Hastings. Forcible entry was gained into the residence in Grand Island whereupon the keys to the vehicle were stolen. A suspect was apprehended in Hastings and taken into custody. Case is under investigation.
