Offense: Domestic Assault
Victim: 38 year old female Incident #: L24020699
Offender: Joel Lapointe
Date and Time of Incident: 2/9/24 @ 10:50
Location of Incident: 704 W 2nd St
Brief Narrative: On 2-9-2024 at around 10:50 am, officer was sitting in the area of Pump and Pantry at 704 2nd Street. He observed Joel Lapointe and an adult female walking behind the store. He observed Joel who he knew from prior contact while on patrol, raise his right hand, make a fist, and strike the adult female in the back of the head. The female was observed yelling at Joel after she was struck then falling to her knees crying. At that time, the officer made contact with Joel and he was later arrested for domestic assault. Joel admitted to striking the female. During a search of Joel's persons, a pipe used for ingesting drugs was located in his pants pocket. Joel was arrested for Domestic Assault and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Brief Narrative: Child came into hospital for cough/cold. Child had a broken rib with no parental explanation. Case under investigation.

Brief Narrative: The victim advised someone to have stolen her 2011 black Chevy Malibu while it was parked on the street in front of her residence, at 122 E. 4th St. Case is open.

Brief Narrative: Report of a counterfeit $100 bill being passed at Qdoba by an unknown male. Case is open.

Location of Incident: 2024 S Locust
Brief Narrative: On 2-9-2024 at or around 1343 hrs, an Officer responded to 1811 W 2nd Street (First Interstate Bank) in reference to a related call for service. It was reported a counterfeit $100 bill to 2024 S. Locust Street (O'Reilly's Auto Parts). Case is open.

Location of Incident: 1723 W 2nd St
Brief Narrative: On 2-9-2024 at or around 1259 hrs, an Officer responded to 1723 W 2nd Street (Subway) in reference to a counterfeit-currency call for service. It was reported an unknown male uttered a counterfeit $100.00.

Location of Incident: 1227 N Diers
Brief Narrative: On 02/09/24 Advanced Auto parts on 1227 N Dier Ave reported finding a counterfeit $100 in their ending batch. Store manager was reviewing the batch and noticed the $100.00 to be questionable. Store manager verified with the bank and was advised it was counterfeit.

Offender: Glen Griess

Location of Incident: 2903 E Hwy 30
Brief Narrative: Officers assist Probation officers with the search of Glen Griess' property at 2903 E Hwy 30. During the search Probation officers located a large duffle bag the contained numerous clear plastic bags of marijuana and Mushrooms. These were verified to be Marijuana and Mushrooms by Griess. Marijuana weighed out to be 61.43 oz and the Mushrooms weighed out to 15.11 oz. Griess was arrested for Possession of Marijuana More Than One Pound and Possession of Controlled Substance.

Location of Incident: 2121 N Broadwell
Brief Narrative: On 2-10-2024 at around 1315 hrs, officer responded to the above location reference a fake $100.00 bill being used to purchase items from the store. The bill was found to be a motion picture bill for movie props. No suspects have been identified in the matter.

Offender: Daniel Ramirez Castaneda
Date and Time of Incident: 2/11/24 @ 23:55
Location of Incident: 1019 Hall St
Brief Narrative: On 2/11/2024 at approximately 2355 hours, Officers were dispatched to 1019 Hall St. reference a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and observed a female victim outside the residence with multiple stab wounds to her hands and head. The female advised her boyfriend, Daniel Ramirez Castaneda, attacked her with a knife and was still inside the home along with their 6 yr old and 9 month old children who witnessed the altercation. Officers would make announcements and call Daniel out of the residence where he was taken into custody. Investigation discovered that Daniel was restraining the female victim inside the residence under terroristic circumstances. Daniel also was attempting to dispose or discard physical evidence at the scene by cleaning up the weapon used as well as the crime scene. Daniel was arrested for Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, Intentional Child Abuse, 1st Degree False Imprisonment & Tampering with Physical Evidence.
