Location of Incident: W 18th St & N Huston Ave
Brief Narrative: On 07/31/2024, officers responded to a male using GPS services to locate his cell phone that was stolen earlier in the day from Casey's on S Locust St. The male victim would claim to locate the cell phone in a GMC Yukon that would be near 18th and Huston Ave that would be occupied by two males who admitted to stealing the phone. The victim would claim that the male suspects told them, if you want your phone come get it and words
along the line of "be a man". Officers would locate the GMC Yukon parked in the area, both occupants would be ducking down in the vehicle with a pocket knife on the driver's lap. Officers would contact the males and would observe and recognize both males from prior contacts. The driver would be identified as Alex Torres. The passenger would be identified as Carlos Torres Morales. Alex and Carlos would admit to possessing the cell phone since locating it at Casey's on South Locust earlier in the day. Alex and Carlos would claim they did not report locating the cell phone because they believed the victim should find it with GPS tracking and contact them. Carlos and Alex would admit to removing the phone from their vehicle and leaving the phone in the middle of the street prior to LE contact. The males stated that officers probably ran it over when they drove by. When asked who left the phone in the middle of the street, both suspects would remain silent. During an inventory of the vehicle, officer located methamphetamine on the driver side where Alex Torres was sitting. Carlos Torres Morales arrested for Tampering with Evidence & Possession of Stolen Property Alex Torres arrested for Possession Controlled Substance, Tampering with Evidence and Possession of Stolen Property

Brief Narrative: An adult male contacted Police to report in appropriate material involving juveniles on a friend’s phone that was left at the residence. Case is open.

Victim: 44 year old male Incident #: L24073047
Date and Time of Incident: 7/30/24 @ 09:08
Location of Incident: 214 W 9th St
Brief Narrative: Victim contacted law enforcement to report that a female known to him, had used his bank account to wire $2,600 in to her own account, without authorization. Case is open.
