Offense: Drive Without Ignition Interlock w/ .02+
Victim: Incident #: L24070464
Offender: Jorge Aguirre

Location of Incident: W 2nd St & N Clark St
Brief Narrative: Officers observed a brown 2012 Kia Soul make an improper turn on W 2nd St. and N Walnut St. The vehicle would make a left hand turn and turn into the middle lane instead of the closest left lane. Officers conducted a traffic stop at W 2nd St. and N Clark St. The driver was verbally identified as Jorge Aguirre. Jorge advised that he does not have a driver's license on his person. A records check showed Jorge has an ignition interlock permit. Jorge advised he does not have the ignition interlock in the brown 2012 Kia Soul. Officers also did not locate any ignition interlock inside the vehicle. Jorge performed standardized field sobriety test and showed minimal impairment. Jorge provided a failing preliminary breath test. Jorge was placed under arrest. Jorge consented to a chemical test of his breath. Jorge provided a breath sample above .02 BAC. Jorge Aguirre was arrested for Drive Without Ignition Interlock w/ .02+ , No License on Person & Improper Turn.

Offense: Flight to Avoid

Offender: Don Casey Casares

Location of Incident: 1602 W 2nd St 
Brief Narrative: On 07/05/2024, officers observed Don Casey Casares at 2nd street Super Saver, exiting his 2000 brown/grey Mercury Grand Marquis (OLD/Fictitious NE Plate #8F2294), no front plate. A records check would reveal that the plate used to belong to a 2012 Dodge Durango. Officers attempted to contact Don, and he would take off in the vehicle at a high rate of speed onto 2nd street, while blacked out. There were two males in the vehicle, one appeared to be his juvenile son who is 14 years old. The other passenger would exit the front passenger side and would almost be left by Don. Don would drive through parking stalls at Super Saver that had pedestrians and several parked vehicles, he would run the stop sign  exiting Super Saver. Don would drive at a high rate of speed on 2nd street, with no vehicle lighting. Don would drive over the 2nd street overpass with no headlights and taillights. It should be noted there are three hotels, a food truck, and a gas station with heavy foot traffic in that area. Don Casey Casares was referred for Flight to Avoid, Drive During Suspension (11th), Intentional Child Abuse, Improper Vehicle Lighting, Willful Reckless and Fictitious Plates.

Offense: Burglary
Victim: 38 year old female, 34 year old male Incident #: L24070351

Location of Incident: 208 S Cherry St
Brief Narrative: An adult male reported a Burglary at his residence. Unknown suspect entered residence from the back yard through a rear door. Suspect stole $740.00 in rent cash and medications. A 65 " television, an HP Laptop computer, an antique vase were damaged. Damage is valued at $1550.00. Total loss in cash was $740.00 and medication stolen were valued $40.00. Total loss in stolen property is $780.00.

Offense: Sexual Assault / Child Abuse
Victim: 7 year old female, 9 year old male, 4 year old female, 11 year old female

Location of Incident: Within City Limits Brief Narrative: On 7/6/2024 a child abuse and sexual assault of a child were reported. The case is ongoing.

Offense: Counterfeit Currency
Victim: Super Saver Incident #: L24070590
Date and Time of Incident: 7/7/24 @ 23:50
Location of Incident: 710 W State St
Brief Narrative: On 07/07/2024 officers responded to 710 W State St; Supersaver in reference to counterfeit currency. Upon arrival, Officers would make contact with Super saver employees who advised that an unknown male attempted to pass a counterfeit $100.00 bill to pay for his groceries. Once the bill was determined to be counterfeit, the male would pay using a credit card and leave the property. This is an ongoing investigation.

Location of Incident: Within City Limits
Brief Narrative: A juvenile female reported her father had threatened her with a firearm within the city limits of Grand Island. An investigation was conducted and no offense could be corroborated. The juvenile female was allowed to stay with a family member for the night.
