GI Home Federal Opens Season With Win Over Lincoln SE, 3-0

(Grand Island, NE) - The Grand Island Home Federal baseball team opened up the 2025 summer season with a 3-0 win over Lincoln Southeast on Friday night at Ryder Park.
GI got a stellar pitching performance from Brock Cushing, going six innings, only giving up one hit, and had 11 strikeouts in the contest with only three walks.
Home Federal would have four hits on the night. Ian Arends would have two hits and one RBI. Sam Dinkleman would get a hit (triple), bringing in an RBI. Gabe Ruiz would have a hit in the game.
Grand Island will be back in action on Saturday, May 24th, hosting Lincoln Pius X for a doubleheader. Game one will be at 2:00 p.m., with game two to follow at 4:00 p.m. at Ryder Park.
