Jordy Frahm threw a complete game shutout and knocked two home runs to lead the No. 11 Nebraska softball team to a 6-0 victory over the UCF Knights on Saturday afternoon in Clearwater, Fla.

With the win, the Huskers improved to 5-4 overall and 2-2 on the weekend, while UCF fell to 8-3. NU handed the Knights their first shutout of the season.

Frahm (2-3) claimed the win in the circle after allowing no runs and only three hits while striking out seven batters. At the plate, she was 2-for-2 with two home runs and three RBIs. Frahm reached base twice more with a walk and hit by pitch.

Bella Bacon and Lauren Camenzind contributed two hits apiece, while L. Camenzind added two RBIs. Bacon, L. Camenzind, Carlie Muhlbach and Katelyn Caneda each had a double.

Frahm opened up the scoring with a solo home run in the top of the first.

In her first at bat of the season, Bacon doubled and scored on a L. Camenzind double to extend the NU lead to 2-0 in the second inning.

Hannah Coor walked and Bacon singled to put two runners on in the fourth. L. Camenzind singled to score Coor before Bacon got caught stealing. Frahm knocked a two-out homer, her second of the day, to send herself and L. Camenzind across the plate to make the score 5-0.

NU added another run in the sixth, as Muhlbach doubled and Natalia Hill, who pinch ran, went to third on a Coor sac fly and scored on an error.

The Big Red will close out the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational tomorrow, Feb. 15 against No. 1 Texas Tech at 5 p.m. (CT). The game will be televised on ESPN and can be heard across the Huskers Radio Network.
