Election Bills Take Center Stage
At the state capital, bills centering around Nebraska’s elections took center stage Wednesday.
Sen Julie Slama of Auburn, introduced two pieces of legislation, the first calling for Nebraska to return to a winner-take-all electoral college system following on the heels of President Biden receiving one vote from the Omaha area's second congressional district in the 2020 election.
Slama also introduced a legislative resolution, meaning if passed by lawmakers the issue would be brought before voters, on whether or not to require voters to have a photo ID to vote.
