Uncasville, Conn. -- Lauren Jensen and Morgan Maly combined for 45 points to lead #21 Creighton Women's Basketball to a 72-65 win over Seton Hall in the BIG EAST Quarterfinals on Saturday, March 9.

The win lifted the Bluejays to 25-4 on the season, while Seton Hall moved to 17-14 overall.

Knotted at 50-50 with just over two minutes remaining in the third quarter, Creighton took control with an 8-0 run. Maly put the Bluejays in front to stay with a three-point play with 1:11, then Jensen drained a trey followed by a layup to open the fourth to give the Jays a 58-50 lead (8:57) and force Seton Hall to use its first timeout of the game.

Seton Hall showed the tenacity it had displayed throughout the game to claw back within three at 64-61 (2:47), but a pair of free throw from Jayme Horan and a driving layup by Jensen pushed Creighton back out to a 68-61 edge with 49 seconds remaining. The Pirates had one surge left, closed withing three once more at 68-65 (0:34), before Maly closed the game with four more from the line.

Creighton scored the first four points of the game, but were locked in a back-and-forth affair throughout the first stanza as Seton Hall connected on all four attempts from beyond the arc. The final trifecta of the frame gave Seton Hall an 18-14 lead (2:51), but buckets from Molly Mogensen and a three-ball from Jensen gave the Bluejays a 19-18 edge after the first quarter.

The second quarter remained within one possession throughout the frame as the Pirates got seven points from Kae Satterfield and shot 6-of-13 to take a 34-33 lead into the locker room. The backyard brawl continued into the third quarter as neither team created more than three points of separation until Jensen opened the fourth with her trey.

Maly led all scorers with 23 and also grabbed nine rebounds, while Jensen closed the game with 22 points. Creighton's third leading scorer on Saturday night was Molly Mogensen with 13 points.

Seton Hall got 15 points from Micah Gray, 14 from Azana Baines and 11 from Kae Satterfield in the loss.

Creighton will be back in action today, Sunday, March 10 as the Bluejays face No. 6 Georgetown in the BIG EAST Semifinals at 4:00 p.m. on FS1.
