WASHINGTON, D.C. – Creighton softball racked up 16 hits and used a six-run fourth and fifth to complete the series sweep of Georgetown for the second straight season with a 13-0 victory at the Washington Nationals Youth Academy on Sunday morning in the nation’s capital.
The Bluejays improved to 15-19 overall and 5-7 in BIG EAST play, securing their first BIG EAST series win of the season and the first series win over Georgetown in D.C. since 2017. The Hoyas, meanwhile, fell to 8-23 on the year and 0-15 in league action.

The Bluejays jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first courtesy of an RBI single down the left field line from West after Sydra Seville drew a leadoff walk and Pierson raced out an infield single.
Following two scoreless frames, Creighton erupted for six runs on six hits in the fourth to build a 7-0 lead. Redshirt freshman Kenzie Nakasawa opened the frame with a single to right, before a single from Perez placed runners on first and second with no outs. One out later, sophomore Avery Barnard delivered a pinch-hit single to right to give CU a 2-0 lead.
Seville followed with an RBI single of her own to left to make it 3-0 Bluejays, before Pierson raced out a bunt single to load the bases. West then earned an RBI walk to extend the lead to 4-0, before an infield sacrifice fly from Kaelan Schultz brought in the Jays fifth run of the game. Sophomore Sydney Potter would then drive in two runs of her own with a two-run single into the left center field gap to push the Jays advantage to 7-0.
Creighton would tack on six addition runs in the top of the fifth to secure its second run-rule victory of the season. Poole and Barnard led off the inning with back-to-back single up the middle, before scoring on a fielder’s choice and a Georgetown throwing error. Pierson then collected her third hit of the game to load the bases for West.
