Mason, Ohio – Making its first championship appearance since 2022, Creighton held on to defeat St. John's 10-8 to advance to the winner's bracket at the 2025 BIG EAST Baseball Championship Presented by Jeep.

The win moved the Bluejays to 39-14 on the season, while St. John's fell to 29-23.

Creighton took control in the bottom of the first when Matt Schermann hit a solo shot to center field to take the 1-0 lead. Connor Capece later singled down the line to send Ben North home and double the Bluejays' advantage.

After a scoreless second inning, St. John's bats heated up with a run in each of the next five innings. Jon LeGrande homered to right field in the top of the third to pull the Red Storm with one run, before Adam Agresti scored off a ground out by LeGrande in the top of the fourth to tie it.

St. John's took the lead, 3-2, in the top of the fifth after a home run by Jayder Raifstanger.

In the bottom of the fifth, Scherman collected his second RBI of the game with a single through the right side, as Nate McHugh scored. Moments later, Nolan Sailors gave the Bluejays a lead they would not look back on with a two-run homer over the center wall.

After St. John's brought it back to a one-run game in the top of the seventh, 6-5, Creighton broke the game open with a three-run bottom frame. Ben North got it started with a two-run double, before a wild pitch sent North home for a 9-5 lead. The Bluejays extended the lead to 10-5 in the bottom of the eighth behind North's third RBI of the game and held on for the 10-8 victory.

Creighton reliever Matt Aukerman moved to 8-0 on the season with the win. Aukerman limited St. John's to one run on one hit in 1.1 innings of work. Creighton closer Garrett Langrell was called upon to work the final three innings to earn his 12th save of the year.
