Creech & Flinn Named New Head Coaches For Hastings Basketball

(Hastings, NE) - The Hastings basketball teams will be under new leadership with one of the new head coaches being a familiar face. Former Hastings boys head basketball coach Lance Creech is back for the Tigers, this time as the new girls' head basketball coach taking over for Liz Vanderpool. Creech served as the Hastings boy's head coach for seven seasons (2013-2020). Before that Creech was the head man for the men's team at Hastings College (2001-2013). Lance Creech's son Connor Creech who he coached at Hastings High just wrapped up his redshirt junior season at Northern Colorado.

The new boys coach for the Tigers will be Dylan Flinn who has been with the Tiger basketball program for six years helping with all levels. Before his time with the Tigers Flinn was at Hastings St Cecilia as a varsity assistant. Flinn takes over for Drew Danielson who recently announced his departure from the Tigers after this school year as he was named the new girl's basketball coach at Kearney High.

Both head coaching positions are pending board approval at next week's board meeting.
