Changes in WIC Coverage for Hamilton and Merrick Counties

Grand Island, NE - Central District Health Department (CDHD) is excited to announce starting October 1, 2025, the CDHD WIC clinic will be expanding their coverage area to include Hamilton and Merrick Counties in addition to Hall County.
The location of the clinics will continue at the United Methodist Church in Aurora and the United Presbyterian Church in Central City. WIC participants currently being served at the Central City and Aurora WIC clinics will be contacted by CDHD WIC staff prior to this transition to ensure that participants are aware of the clinic times. Current WIC participants and interested individuals may contact WIC CDHD staff directly at 308-385-5188.
Women, Infants & Children Program (WIC)
WIC is the nation’s most successful and cost-effective public health nutrition program. We provide wholesome foods, breastfeeding support, nutrition education and community referrals for income-eligible women who are pregnant or postpartum, infants and children up to age five.
All Caregivers Are Welcome:
WIC offers support to anyone who cares for children under the age of 5—mothers, fathers, grandparents, foster parents, stepparents & guardians.
To receive WIC assistance, participants must:
*live in Nebraska
*be pregnant, postpartum or breastfeeding
*have an infant or child under the age of 5
*be income eligible (if applicant receive Medicaid, SNAP, ADC or Kids Connections- you AUTOMATICALLY qualify)
