Caspersen Signs With Fort Hays State Softball

(Grand Island, NE) - On Wednesday, January 17 Northwest senior Kylie Caspersen signed her letter of intent to play softball at Fort Hays State University in Hays, Kansas. Caspersen was an intricate part of the two-state championships for the Northwest Vikings in 2022 & 2023. This past year she led the Northwest in the circle pitching 127 2/3 innings with an 18-4 record. On the season she had 82 strikeouts with an ERA 4.22. Caspersen pitches with her right hand but bats left. With the bat in 33 games for 2023, she had 33 hits, 22 singles, 7 doubles, 4 home runs, and 36 RBIs, with a season-ending average of .324. The Vikings would defeat Blair this past fall 9-8 in walk-off fashion for the school's second state softball championship finishing with a record of 28-7. Caspersen plans to major in animal science at Fort Hays State.
